SF Thursday and Friday

I arrived at 10pm Wednesday night and promptly went to sleep.

Thursday, I decided to go see Berkeley because it's only 35 minutes away. Mostly I just wandered around and ate stuff including a raspberry macaroon just for Abby. Delicioso!
Then I drove up the giant hill that borders Berkeley to the east - and in one person's yard (I hope they weren't home) you can see the whole city and the Golden Gate Bridge.

Then, I very cautiously drove back down the hill (very scary) and went back to Pleasanton where Bob's hotel is. When Bob got home from work, we went to the city of San Francisco to check out the Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39. We had some clam chowder, smelled some very interesting smells, and went to this coin operated arcade type thing with all these old mechanically driven games. The 'orchestrions' were our favorite - most of them were built in the 1920s and when you put in a quarter, they would play a song on a piano, and a whole bunch of other instruments inside like drums and flutes. I so want one now!

Then Bob proved his cowboy skills - as you can see - he is Extra Strong like a Stevedore (I don't even know what that is, but it's one level below a Marine).
We went over to Pier 39 just in time to see the sunset. That's the GG bridge in the background and a cruise ship. Apparently ships that were set for Mexico came to SF instead because of swine flu. I wouldn't want to be those people.Alcatraz Island.

We saw the famous sea lions. About 100 of them were laying on these wooden raft type things in a little harbor area that also housed some boats. They were really loud barking at each other and biting each other. Since it was too dark to take a picture of them, here's me with a statue instead.
Friday, we went to In'n'Out for lunch. It was good! That's two 'double doubles' with grilled onions and fresh fries (we saw them dicing up the potatoes) and a pop. It cost $9.50. Totally worth it.
Then we went to a winery and tasted some wines. The guy that owned the winery did the tastings so we got to learn all about how to make wine and grow grapes and stuff - it was really interesting. Then we went to downtown Livermore, drove to the central valley and then relaxed the rest of the day.

Today, we are going to go to Muir Woods, I think - they are having a migratory bird festival and there are some redwood trees there! Yay!
